LAML delivered a major electrical and civils airfield upgrade for the MAN-TP Capital Project at Manchester Airport, involving groundworks to upgrade a taxiway duelling system, a new Link 360 ILCMS system, MEP works, drainage, ducting and removal of legacy assets.
Included in the works package were:
Reconfiguration of concrete stands and new CP fence line
Installation of 120 km of primary and 180 km of secondary cable, along with saw cutting & sealing of the cable chases
Installation of over 1,500 transformers and ILCMS Link 360 units
Installation of 1,000 LED fittings and 100 signs
Carrying out new CCR, Link 360 Master and Servers installations and modifications across two substations and 24 taxiway circuits
Installation of new pantographs, new aerial gantries, SNIBs, FEGP and AVDGS systems
Upgraded and new installation of high-mast lighting
New installation of a CCTV mast and cameras
A full commissioning programme confirming correct routing and switching of the ILCMS system to the MAN-TP design.
The completion of these works has provided a dual taxiway routing system, reconfigured aircraft parking, and enhanced stand facilities, which will increase efficiency in aircraft ground journey times.
