AGL and AGL Civils work on the Edinburgh Airport

Contract Dates: October 2025 - April 2026

LAML were appointed to undertake both AGL and AGL Civils work on the Edinburgh Airport Runway rehabilitation project for Lagan Aviation.

Brief description of works completed:

Civils:

  • Installation of 118 no stabilisations of AGL Seating pots utilising rapid-set concrete poured in situ ( 750mm wide x 750mm deep). In order to meet client requirements, the concrete had to achieve 20N at hand-back within the 5-hour shift.

  • 800 no pre-cast stabilisation installations.

  • 7500 lm of AGL Cable chase saw cutting and sealing using 95/25 oxidised bitumen.

  • Removal & replacement of 1050 nr AGL seating pots.

Airfield Ground Lighting activities:

  • 06/24 runway AGL Earthing System improvements.

  • New LV cabling to 06/24 Runway Weather Sensor Control Cabinets.

  • Supply, installation & commissioning of 40nr new CCRs & Earthing.

  • AGL LED lighting upgrade - 1400nr new fittings installed to all 06/24 Runway Services, 24/06 Approaches, CATI & CATIII Stop Bars.

  • Upgrade and replacement of 1400nr Series Isolating Transformers.

  • Upgrade and replacement of DUAL switching units & switching transformers to CATI & CAT3 Stop Bars.

  • Supply & installation of New LED PAPIs to 06/24 runway.

  • Installation of new 1-core 4 mm secondary cabling to CATI & CATIII Stop Bars, Taxiway Lead-on/Lead-off lights & runway centre line.

  • Flight Calibration Check.
