Bristol Airport AGL-Workstream 2

This project incorporated the provision of Aeronautical Ground Lighting system (AGL) equipment and cables for the AGL resilience upgrade works at Bristol Airport.

The works were completed in 5-hour working windows over a 4-month period.

The project included:

  • Replacement of all transformers and joints on the whole airfield, both runways and taxiways

  • Supply and Installation of 1,400 Isolation Transformers, Pit furniture, earth bars and earthing within 200 Pits

  • Saw cutting and sealing new Secondaries for the Approach 27 inset lights

  • Supply and installation of all elevated and inset lights for the 27 Approach installed on existing Excel approach masts

  • Coring in new Seating cans for the new Inset Approach light fittings

  • Commissioning all circuits and CCRs to allow for the new circuit Loads.

  • Each shift required the locking off all circuits with Bristol Airport AGL Engineers.
